The Clutches Operates;
The clutch consists of three components such as: Pressure Plate, Centre Plate & Release Bearing (sometimes known as a slave cylinder) these are fitted inside the gearbox. The pressure plate is tensioned with springs and separates when the clutch pedal is pressed to shift up & down the gears. This action eventually wears the clutches down over time, and will need replacing.
Signs that indicate you may need a new clutch;
The engine revs to keep increasing but there is a slight increase in the vehicle speed; this is known as clutch “Slip”
Difficult to select gears when the engine is running, this is known as clutch “Drag”
The vehicle shakes when taking off, this is known as clutch “Judder”
Noise when taking off, this is known as “release bearing noise”
